Sleeping Beauty

Aurora

Sleeping beauty was released January 29th 1959. She was the last of the "Prim and Propper" Princesses. From the day she was born she was cursed by an evil witch named Maleficent. She was cursed to prick her finger on a needle of a spinning wheel and die on the eve of her sixteenth bitrhday. Why did Maleficent do this to a baby not even a day old yet? She was mad because she was not invited to Aurora's birthday party. She was sent away with her godmothers who had given her gifts to live in the forrest and live without magic to pretect the baby as she grew and keep her hiden so that the Evil wotch would never be able to find her.

The Fairies

Flora

Flora was the pink Fairy and the leader. It was her idea to take Aroura from the castle and hide her in the old wood cutters cottage so that Melaficent would never be able to find her. She always has to have it her way, or no way. It was also Flora's idea to live as mortals with no magic, and not calling the sweet princess Aurora buy her first name, so they called her Frua Rose. She gave Aurors the gift of beauty.

Fauna

Fauna was the green, and ditsiet of the fairies. She was very ambitious and the nicest of the three Fairies. She always took Flora's side and didn't make any trouble. She loved Rose, and didn't want to see her get hurt. She gave Aurora the gift of song.

Merryweather

Merryweather was the blue rebel fairy. She didnt agree with Flora all the time, but because she is the youngest of the fairies, her opinions got thrown to the side. Merryweather could not hold her tongue, and always speaks her mind. Her gift to the princess was that she would not die from the curse Maleficent placed on Aurora, but she would fall into a deep sleep until she was kissed by her true love.

The Witch Maleficent

Malefcent was the Queen of Evil. She was not happy that she did not receive an invitaion to King Stefan's daughters birthday. So she placed the curse on her. Sixteen years passed and she couldnt find where Aurora had gone. She sent her armies to find her, but her army of idiots searched for a baby for sixteen years instead of a teenager. The only way she found Aurora was by her crow. He saw the magic dust coming from the wood cutters cottage and told his master.

Prince Philip

Prince Philip's father and Princess Aurora's father were great friends, and as a baby King Stefan, Aurora's father, promised his daughters hand in marriage to his friends son. They had only seen eachother the day Aurora was born. It was the eve of her sixteenth birthday, and her Godmothers had sent her out to go pick berries so they could prepare for her birthday. She was talking to all of her woodland creatures about a dream she had once had. Aurora started to sing and Prince Philip heard her. He thought she had to mst beautiful voice, so he made a deal with his horse, and they ran in the direction of the beautiful sound, Philip almost gave up, when the sound had stopped, but then Aurora started to sing again. He laid eyes on her and from then on was in love. He didnt know she was the princess, and she didnt know he was the prince. They started dancing and she fell inlove with him as well. He was the man of her dreams. She rushed home, but not before telling him to meet her that night in her cottage.

The kings prepared for the princess to arive. There was o be a wedding that night. Their kingdoms were to be united, and ehevthing was to be perfect.

Meanwhile at the Castle

That Night

The Fairies told her that she was a princess who was to mary a prince. Aurora was very upset because she had fallen inlove, but she didnt realize the man she fell inlove with was to be her husband. She was very upset, and didnt want to accept the fact that she ws a princess. That night Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather took her to the castle to prepare her for her birthday celebration. But little did they know that Maleficent ad her own plans. Her green glow hypnatized Aurora and lead her up many stairs where a spinning wheel stood, waiting for her. Aurora pricked her finger and was laying asleep on the floor when the faires found her. They didn't know how to tell the king, so they didn't. Instead they put everyone in the kingdom asleep until they could find her true love.

While the fairies where putting eveyne to sleep, Maleficent had captured Aurora's true love. She was very suprised to find that of all people it was the Prince. She took him to her castle on the forbinden mountain. Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather travled all the way there. They snuck into the castle to free prince philip so that their beloved princess could awaken and the kingdom could celebrate the long awaited return of Princess Aurora.

They freed the prince, but Maleficent didnt give up that easy. She casted another spell on the kingdom, thorn bushes grew all around the castle, tall and thick, almost impenetrable. But Prince Philip's sword thought differently. He got all the way through. Maleficent was enraged. She turned herself into a dragon and battled the prince. He slayed the great Maleficent with his mighty enchanted sword. He hurried to the tower where his princess was sleeping. She was as beautiful as he had remembered. Philip knelt down and kissed his princess awake, and they lived happily ever after.
